Ben Warren

Ben Warren has over 15 years’ experience in impact and sustainable finance. He previously worked as an investor in London with two of the UK’s largest impact funds and most recently has led a sustainable agriculture company in Myanmar for almost nine years. He has spent more than a decade living and working in Asia, raising over $100 million for food security, livelihoods and climate-focused investments from leading global impact investors. This work has supported 1 million+ smallholder farmers with innovative farm financing, climate-smart agriculture solutions and resilience building.

Ben has also worked in technical investment and policy advisory roles with the UK Government – Cabinet Office (Social Finance team) and the United Nations (Livelihoods and Food Security Trust) designing wholesale impact funds. He started his career as an entrepreneur and has served a board member for various non-profits and social businesses. He holds an MA in Sustainable Finance and an MSc in Development Studies, with a focus agricultural finance and climate adaptation. Ben is a Finance Innovation Lab Fellow.

Nate Matthews

Nathanial Matthews has over 20 years’ experience leading resilience, water, ecosystem and agricultural programmes across more than 50 countries, working with governments, NGOs, communities and the private sector. His work increasingly sits at the intersection of science, policy and finance, helping shape investment approaches and partnerships that recognise the value of resilience, nature and sustainable development. He has served as CEO of the Global Resilience Partnership and held leadership roles with CGIAR, UNEP, non-profits and the private sector. Nate’s expertise has been recognised through roles including as Expert Integrity Council Member for Science Based Targets for Nature (SBTN), Lead Author for IPBES, and Expert Advisory Panel Member of the Earthshot Prize. He also holds a number of board and advisory positions.

He completed a Ph.D. in Geography, with finance certificates from Yale and London Business School. He is a Visiting Professor at King’s College London, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and a Fellow of The Explorers Club. He has published extensively.
